Well, the auction is officially over! I consider this year's MHHF auction a big success, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who bid, bought items, donated items, shared the auction, and helped make it happen. Every bit of support makes a difference to the charities that benefit from the proceeds.
We did finish about $400 behind last year's total, so naturally I would love to find a way to make up at least some of that difference. But there is another little issue staring me in the face...
I am also looking at almost 200 items that did not sell during the auction.
Those are both problems. But maybe we can turn those two problems into one really good opportunity! 😊
Here is the deal: all of the items that are still listed on the auction page as unsold are now available for HALF of the original listed price! That's right, 50% off the already discounted auction prices. It is a chance to pick up some great items at an even better price while helping MHHF raise additional money for charity.
The Auction itself is now officially closed, which means the normal auction buying tools will no longer work. But don't worry, you can still shop the remaining items. Simply search through the list of unsold items, find something you would like, and make note of the auction number.
Then send an email to MJCFair@gmail.com with the auction number or numbers you are interested in. We can work out payment and pickup details with you directly. We can accept cash at pickup, Square, PayPal, or credit card. If you need an item shipped, we can arrange that as well. Shipping is available, but the buyer is responsible for the actual shipping cost.
We are still able to hide items from the list once we have a confirmed sale, so these remaining items are first come, first served. If you see something you want, don't wait too long. Once another customer claims an item and we confirm the sale, it will be hidden and no longer available.
So take another look through the auction list, find those hidden treasures, and get your list to us before someone else grabs them! You may find something you missed the first time around, and at half price, there may be some pretty tempting deals waiting for you. 😊
In the end, everybody wins. You get a screaming deal on items that were already screaming deals, we get to clear the decks and make room for next year's auction, and MHHF and the charities we support receive the proceeds. That is a whole lot of good coming from a bunch of items that were just sitting around waiting for a new home!
